Expertise: GIS- ArcMap Surfer Geosoft Environmental Isotopes Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) ore deposit Hydrogeological conceptual modelling Experience: Despina holds a BSc degree and BSc. (hons) in geology specialising in economic geology from the University of the Witwatersrand. During her honour’s degree studies, she worked on VMS deposit along the Damara Orogenic Belt, Namibia. She also obtained her MSc degree in Hydrogeology from University of the Witwatersrand. She conceptualised crystalline aquifers using environmental isotopes, physicochemical parameters, structural analyses and recharge estimation methods (water balance and water table fluctuation) as part of her master’s degree research. She joined NRR in 2018 and her knowledge base has since expanded in mining through exposure in due diligence reporting for various mining developments, sampling and Competent Person’s Report reviews. She has been involved in the vanadium and coal projects.
